Prayer doesn’t drive everything, but it does drive what is good

Verse
In every place of worship, I want men to pray with holy hands lifted up to God, free from anger and controversy.
1 Timothy 2:8 NLT
Summary
Politicians and their key advisors are the ones who hold the levers of power. But we are instructed to find authority in heaven to use and to direct that power. This is not praying for ourselves, but standing in the gap for others. Politics by its nature is adversarial, but the Holy Spirit brings us into agreement with Him and with each other — to bring good change through our intercession.
Prayer
This is a suggested prayer. You can add to ti and change it — and make it your own,
Lord, we are in difficult times and our elected leaders and the scientists who advise them are facing alternatives that seem impossible choices for them.
But not for You! You have enabled rapid advances and the gift of a vaccine in a tenth or the normal time. You have given doctors wisdom for new treatments.
We bring them before you now, and the ministers and others (name them) who need your help and wisdom.
We praise You, Jesus that all authority in heaven and in earth resides with You. Your kingdom come!
And we call down Your wisdom and divine leading for those that need it for their decisions. Amen.
