Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever. 1 Chronicles 16:34 NIV
Whatever I am feeling, Lord, I look to You and see that You are good.
Whatever I have experienced from others, Lord — I look to You and see that You are good.
Whatever the news brings, or the interviewers twist, or the headline spins: Lord, I look to You and see that You are true and You are good.
Whenever negativity creeps into my thoughts, Lord, I look to You and see that You are good.
Bring Your goodness out of me today, that I might be someone’s else good experience.
Verse and prayer of the day: Be alert… and resist…
1 Peter 5:8-9 NIV Be alert… Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
Lord God, as we think of Your Son Jesus going to the Cross, dying there and then being seen and known resurrected, we thank You again for what He has done for us.
We thank You, Holy God, that we ordinary and unqualified people can know You and be one with You through Jesus.
We thank You that our “enemy the devil who prowls around like a roaring lion” may have a voice and may still be able to suggest, but his power has been broken. On the Cross. By the bloodshed, precious blood.
To that voice we say, together with You, “Be silent!” and to the fear we say, together with You, “We know and trust God’s love!
May we be filled with the confident expectation of hope in You, togetherness with You and partnership in Your purpose, as we stand against the threat of Coronovirus illness and join in protecting those most at risk.
We especially bless, with Your love and peace, those who are the most exposed and vulnerable – those with health and age issues and those working in close proximity.
We pray for Your kingdom to come on our world, for Your greater purpose to unfold, and for many who are estranged from You to turn and find joy and peace in You at this time. For the glory of Jesus, Amen.
“Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord… who will never fail you… never abandon you.” Psalm 27:14 and Hebrews 13:5
Lord God, You are good, always working Your good purposes out above and beyond the difficulties that are confronting us. You tell us that a grain of faith is effective against a difficulty that seems the size of a mountain. So we come before You today on behalf of all in cash flow difficulty while their businesses are on hold or restricted.
We bless with Your blessing our neighbourhood businesses, our friends’ businesses, the businesses we rely on and that serve our community.
We say with them, that “Yours is the greatness… because everything in heaven and earth is Yours… wealth and honour come from You… In Your hands are strength to give strength.”
We bless with Your strength our small businesses and those who serve through them.We bless them with different ways of operating, and new sources of income, known to You if not yet known to us.
May they, together with everyone, be prompted to turn to You and acknowledge You as helper and provider: “I lift up my eyes to the hills – from where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord…“
On earth we are constantly hearing bad news, but we choose to tune in to heaven’s channel, because Your word to us always brings good news of Your good intentions, and we choose to be influenced by what You are saying.
Surely the righteous will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever. They will have no fear of bad news; their hearts are steadfast, trusting in the Lord. Their hearts are secure, they will have no fear…Psalm 112:6-8
“The very moment I call to You for a Father’s help the tide of battle turns and my enemies flee. This one thing I know: God is on my side!”Psalm 56:9
